If the doctor has authorised a REPEAT prescription you may make such request by giving an advance 48 HOURS notice and stating clearly the names of all the medicine you require. Your Doctor will need to see you at regular intervals to review and re-authorise your repeat prescription/s.  Please arrange to see the doctor before the review date as the Doctor MAY NOT ISSUE repeat prescription after the review date has passed.

Non-repeat prescription request made before 12:.30pm will be ready for collection after the morning surgery and request before 6.00pm will be ready after evening surgery.  Requests made after 6.00pm will not be ready until 1.30pm the following working day and please note that there will be no collection after 2.00pm on Wednesday.

Pharmacy Collection Service

If you would like the pharmacy to collect and dispense your repeat prescription for you, please contact your pharmacy directly.  We must have your written consent to allow the pharmacy to collect your prescription and forms for this purpose are available from your pharmacy. Please note that you will need to order your prescription yourself.  A chemist cannot order your repeat prescription.

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

If you get regular prescriptions the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) may be able to save you time by saving you unnecessary trips to your GP.

EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice.

Choosing a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to process your EPS prescription is called nomination. This means you will no longer have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice and instead you can go straight to the nominated pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to pick up your medicines or medical appliances.

Because your pharmacist has already received your electronic prescription, they may be able to prepare your items in advance, so you just have to pick it up with no extra wait. However, this will depend on the capacity of pharmacists on the day and may not be possible all the time.
